WHITEWATER ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS SHOE PROGRAM ... Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club as identified a need and initiated this new program in Whitewater to assist children in our elementary schools by providing much needed shoes to those children that are in greatest need.  Kiwanis Breakfast Club, along with a 25% matching funds program from our Whitewater Wal-Mart store, has kicked off a program to proivde shoes to Whitewater's elementary school aged children in need.

Many of our Whitewater students start the school year with a new or "new to them" pair of shoes.  By end of school year they are still in that same pair of shoes that is now taped, falling apart AND much too small...causing the child to sit out of activities because their feet hurt.

The Elementary School Volunteer Coordinator shared this story with us when she provided a new pair of shoes to a 4th grader....He was a little concerned when I asked him to come with me to the "girl's locker room. This is where we have set up our "shoe store"... so I assured him I wasn't playing a trick on him.  Once there I handed him a new pair of running shoes.  He looked at me with a puzzled face and said "Why would anyone be so good to me?"  I told him there was a group of people in Whitewater that think about good things they can do for kids in Whitewater and they picked YOU to have these shoes."  He said "This is the BEST DAY OF MY LIFE - now I will be able to run REALLY fast."  He proceeded to jump and run and totally be awed by the goodness that someone in Whitewater - the Kiwanis Breakfast Club and those supporting this organization - provided him that day.

Consider being part of giving a child "the BEST DAY of their lives."

To take advantage of the 25% matching funds program - your monetary donation must come through the Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club.  Please make your check out to:  Kiwanis Whitewater Breakfast Club.  Please mail your check to attention of...
